Elaa is an uninhabited island located in Thaa Atoll, i.e. approximately 230 km to the south of Male. Travelling distance from Male is about one hour by seaplane. The island has an area of 279,000 sq m.

The island is designed to house 140 villas. In the atoll where the island is located, Thaa Atoll, there are mainly inhabited islands and only two resorts are located within the same Atoll, Kalhufhalaafushi and Maalefushi.

The resort is designed by Malaysian architects, Veritas Architects Sdn Bhd. The architect has really explored the limits of lifestyle and fantasy with this project. The designs have been completed under the design and technical advisory services of Marriot International with design and technical specifications of a JW Marriott.
