Started in the year 2001 following the Government's decision to privatize the fishing sector.

Entered the 1 of 4 zones and is now currently setting up factories.

The fisheries sector contributes to 11% of GDP
Second highest foreign exchange earner.

Transport and Shipping

Villa Group owns and operates a fleet of 28 high speed power boats and 60 powered Dhonies (mechanized wooden boats) to attend to the transportation needs requirements of all the guests of Villa Hotels.
Also handles excursions and transportation of goods to the resorts.

Villa Group also owns 50% controlling stake in sea plane business called Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA)

Shipping Fleet

VSTC owns and operates two cargo ships, five oil tankers, and one LPG carrier.
VSTC has been streamlining its shipping activities and has reduced its fleet size from 13 in 1993 to 8.

Information Technology

Villa Technologies Pvt. Ltd was set up with a view to undertake info tech activities on a full scale basis.
Involved in the development and marketing of IT, communication and electronic products.
Villa Technologies also provides consultancy services for the design and development of data networks.
The company has signed an agreement with NCC Education, UK for establishing educational institutions in the Maldives .

Trading

The largest private sector importer in the Maldives
Owns and operates four sales outlets in Male, Thulusdhoo, Maadheli and Mahibadhoo, under the name Villa Trade Centre
As distributor for "Shell", Villa controls almost 50% of the local market for lubricants.
Imports and distributes building materials such as cement, river sand, aggregate, timber, plywood, roofing sheets, marine engine spares etc

Villa Group is setting up a world class storage infrastructure at Thilafushi Island with the following facilities:
·    3 LPG Horton spheres of 1750 m3 each along with a bottling plant suitable for filing 300 bottles at the rate of 12kg per hour. (operational since May 2002)
·    A Fuel Farm for the storage of petrol, diesel and heavy oil with a total capacity of 38,000 m3.
·    Cement Silos for storing up to 8,000 tons of cement along with a packing facility capable of packing up to 900 bags (weighing 50 kg) per hour as well as a facility to pack jumbo-sized bags weighing 1,000 kg.

·    Established to offer natural gas at affordable prices and has set up world class storage infrastructure at Thilafushi Island
·    Villa is leading the distribution of LPG in the Maldives with Agents and Distributors across the country.
·    Villa's main objective is to offer excellent quality, value and unmatched customer service.

Travel and Tours

Villa Travels and Tours is a diversified service company dedicated to providing travel, money transfer and other related services with a commitment to excellence in quality and customer service.
The company has already established a niche for itself in the forefront of the travel industry and diversified its activities to include credit card acquiring, money transfer services medical packages and is planning to introduce other financial services.
Villa Travels is the Passenger Sales Agent for India Airlines, Malaysian Airlines , General Sales Agent for LAUDA AIR , Passenger Sales Agency and Cargo Sales Agency for Kuwait Airways , Exclusive Cargo Agents in the Maldives for EUROFLY/Alitalia Group and UZBEKISTAN AIRLINES' General Agent in passenger and aircraft handling.
Villa Travels represents Western Union Money Transfer in Maldives and provides credit card services through Hatton National Bank, Sri Lanka

Tourism related activities

Tour Operator – VSTC is also in tour operations for last three years. Paradise Holidays
Private Limited operates from Male' while Villa Holidays GmbH operates from Frankfurt,
Germany. In addition, VSTC has incorporated its offices in Japan, Swiss, UK, Hong Kong. These
Companies promote resorts in Maldives and Villa resorts in particular, in the region they operate.

Tourist Submarine

Tourist Submarines (Maldives) Private Limited, is another group company of VSTC, operates Tourist Submarine in Male', the only facility of its kind in South Asia. It is the biggest and deep diving submarine (150 Metres ) in the world. It has become an attraction for all tourists arriving Maldives.

Airline Ticketing, Ground Handling and Credit Card Operations – Villa Travels & Tours Private Limited

(VTTL) is engaged in airline ticketing and ground operations. At present, ticketing and ground handling operations of Malaysian Airlines, Kuwait Airways, Lauda Air, Martin Air and EuroFly are with VTTL. VTTL also operates Visa / Master Credit Card in Maldives through an arrangement with Hatton National Bank, Sri Lanka.

Maamigili Airport 

VSTC is presently developing a Modern Private Airport in Maamigili Island, to cater to the convenience of the guests by way of immediate transfers upon their arrival at Male' International Airport using in house TMA aircrafts to the tourist resorts in Ari Atoll.
